Hey everyone, here’s what I’ve been loving this month in makeup, hair, clothes, and miscellaneous stuff, check it out under the cut!
— Skincare —
I have always had odd issues with my skin, as it always seems to be both greasy and dry at the same time in the same locations. To counter these skin issues, I’ve tried a variety of moistures which have done absolutely nothing to help my skin. I used to use Cetaphil a few months ago, however I honestly got tired of carrying around this giant bottle when I traveled so I mover on to something else. However, this month I decided to return back to this moisturizer in order to counterattack the dryness that this cold weather was bringing on. I have to say that out of all the moisturizers I’ve used, Cetaphil seems to work this best with my skin type, as well as my daily makeup routine.
— Makeup —
For makeup, I’ve had two favorites this month which I have returned to. This first is ELF’s Contouring Blush and Bronzer. Personally, I never really concentrate on blush when I do my daily makeup routine, as the important part for me is my eyeliner. However, I decided to switch up my makeup routine this month and go for a new blush, so I grabbed this duo out of my makeup collection, and so far I’ve been loving this blush. It’s a really gorgeous pink and gold color, with a hint of sparkle (though not enough that it looks like you’re covered in glitter!). It’s perfect for the winter season and it gives me the perfect winter glow, like I’ve been outside too long in the cold mountain weather!
My second makeup favorite is one that has been tried and tested by myself, and I love it so so much! The Maybelline Eye Studio Eyeliner in Blackest Black has to be my hands down favorite eyeliner. For my personally daily makeup routine, eyeliner is, to me, the most important part, and I feel most confident when my eyeliner is on point. This gel formula goes on smooth and lasts pretty much all day with little to no touch up. In order to apply, I use an ELF Small Angled Brush, and this seems to work perfectly with my application as it lasts and looks good. I really loved it this month, as with my busy schedule and traveling it’s small size makes it perfect for on the go and it’s easy to apply, as well as lasts.
— Hair —
The Organix brand Moroccan Argan Oil has been a favorite always as well, but it really helped me this month specifically. You apply this oil after taking a shower on damp hair, and then style naturally. I typically start at the ends of my hair and work it upwards to my roots, and then brush it out to apply the product all over. My hair is very damaged after years of dying my hair different shades of red, and this month (after taking some time to grow my hair out) I dyed my hair again to a sangria color. While I love the color, I’m not a fan of the damage done to my hair, so I’ve been applying this after I wash my hair. Using this product I have noticed such a different in the softness in my hair, especially the ends, as well as more shine in my hair. I love this product, and while it is a bit pricey for a drugstore brand, a little goes a long way with this oil and it lasts a long time (I’ve had this bottle for almost a year now!).
— Clothes —
This sweater is from Forever 21 and its my go-to sweater for a nice occasion. It’s a white sweater with a crocheted pattern, and it’s pretty see through to be completely honest. One downside is whenever I wear this sweater I need to layer another long sleeve underneath it to counteract its transparency, however I’m pretty much fine with it since I save this sweater for nicer occasions on the colder days. I love this because the pattern feels festive and holiday-themed, however, it also looks kinda nice for occasions were you don’t need to look super dressed up, but you still want to look nice. I’ve been wearing this to work a lot and getting some compliments on it, and I also brought it home to wear for Thanksgiving.
This last clothing favorite is a bit of an oddball, but I can’t say I haven’t been loving it this month. This is a blue flannel that I’ve stolen from my boyfriend, and I’ve honestly been wearing it every other day this month. Not only is it super warm and cozy, which is perfect for the cold weather outside, but the oversized flannel look is still in, right? I think I look super cute and laid back when I wear it, and it’s perfect for those days in the library or class hard at work.
— Miscellaneous —
This month was my 21st birthday, and while I didn’t ask for much, my boyfriend surprised me with this really thoughtful gift: camera lens to add onto your phone. I love photography and taking pictures but I don’t have a digital camera, so my primary method for taking pictures is my phone. With these lens, I get some high quality photos while still being on the go. I’ve been taking most of my pictures with these lens and I love them so much. They came with a telephoto lens, a fisheye lens, and a wide angle lens that unscrews into a macro lens. Playing around with these lens has been so much fun and I’ve been loving playing amateur photographer!
My final favorite is kinda pushing it, but I have to be honest: this month I’ve been loving chips and salsa to snack on. While I love my salsa, I’m also a very basic white girl who cannot handle any spice at all, so this Tostitos Mild and Chunky Salsa has been my go-to for a semi-spicy snack. I know, I know, I’m a spice lightweight, but I have been loving this so maybe I’ll make the jump to an intermediate level of spice!
So there are my favorite for the Month of November 2014! I can’t believe its December already, it feels like the year has gone by so quickly! Let me know it the comments below what have been your favorites for this month, and what you’re looking forward to this December!
