Happy Tuesday bloggers! It’s been a bit hectic in my life the past few days, what with graduating from college and moving in with my boyfriend, but I’m dedicated to getting out some new posts for you now that I have some free time. Today’s post is my first ever What’s in My Bag, which is one of my favorite videos and posts to look at. There’s just some strange fascination we all have with finding out what are people’s essentials throughout the day. Check out my post below!
First off, my bag is a canvas tote bag from Maptote. My specific bag is the London Grocery Tote, which I bought a few years ago because of the cute print (a map of London) and the functionality of it. I’m not crazy about massive purses with a million pockets, so a simple canvas tote bag with a cute print on it is totally my style. It has enough space to carry all of my stuff while being minimal enough to keep me from adding garbage to it.
On my bag I have a few buttons, which are just decorations based on different interests of mine and are from various places. I have a Darth Vader pin which I forget
where I got it from, but was bought roughly four years ago. I have a Death Eater pin which my professor for my Juvenile Literature class gave me on the last day of class. Lastly, I have a Doctor Who pin which was part of a Christmas gift from my Dad two years ago. They’re just a fun way to show my love for my fandoms.
The first, and most important, of the items in my bag are my planner, notebook, and markers. My planner is literally my life, I’m an incredibly organized person and honestly needs structure to avoid restlessness and anxiety. My planner was bought from my college bookstore back in August, and is from the company Mixed Role Productions. It runs from August 2014 to August 2015, and keeps me organized and on task. My notebook is from Target, and I use it primarily for a running shopping list, as well as to plan blog posts. It’s also just nice to always have extra paper on hand. Lastly, my markers which I adore are the Paper Mate Felt Tip Pens and they work amazingly in my planner and notebook. The amount of different colors within the pack work well with my color coding, and they very rarely, if at all, bleed through. Let me know if you’d like to see a blog post relating to planning or organizing, I’d love to do one.
My bag also holds my wallet, which is from Target and is pretty cute, a hand cream from Bath and Body Works, and my sunglasses. My wallet is alright, but not as spacious as I probably need since I pretty much hoard change. In it I keep the usual wallet items, like my ID, debit card, and various customer cards. My hand cream is my absolute favorite, the Vanilla Bean Noel scent from Bath and Bodyworks. I adore the scent, I really love vanilla and this just smells like a holiday cupcake from heaven. Lastly, my sunglasses are YikYak sunglasses which I received as part of some merch to give away through my internship as Campus Representative. I kept a pair for myself (obviously) and I really like them. The YikYak green is similar to my favorite green color and they’re cheap enough that I’m not paranoid about losing them, but high enough quality to actually work well at protecting my eyes.
In my bag, I keep one pouch which holds the rest of all my items. This pouch is a makeup bag from Kat Von D, which was part of a Sephora sample sale a few years ago. In it I keep a few various pens and pencils, as well as a gold sharpie and some white out. I also keep a few bandaids (just in case), my phone charger (which I wrapped the plug in gold tape), headphones and a headphone detangler. For beauty products, I don’t really keep that much, just an ELF Cuticle Pen (for moisturizing my cuticles), a sample black eyeliner that I received in another Sephora sample bag sale, a Maybelline Baby Lips in Grape Vine (one of my favorite chopsticks with just a hint of a berry color), and a Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in 001 Pink Truffle (good with moisturizing lips and it’s a beautiful brownish-pink color). Not pictured is my phone (which I’m using to take these pictures), which is an iPhone 4s in an elago case which I purchased on Amazon.
That’s it for my Spring 2015 What’s in My Bag! Let me know what items you think are essentials for your bag in the comments below, or if you have any suggestions for upcoming blog posts. Have a great day!
