March Favorites

Hey everyone and welcome back to my blog! Today’s post is going to be my favorites from March, but with a twist. Since I’ve been on a bit of a break with purchasing beauty products, my real only favorites have been entertainment related. So check out what some of my favorite entertainment-related things have been below!

TV Shows

Survivor Kaoh Rong

The new season of Survivor is here and wow has it been amazing! This season hasn’t had one boring episode and I really have been loving it. Even though I had my reservations, this has really blown my expectations. My favorites this season have been Cydney, Tai, and surprisingly Caleb (aka Beast Mode Cowboy from BB17).

Daredevil Season 2

As some of you may have read in my past favorites, I really love the Netflix original series Daredevil. Like, I really really love this series. As it just so happens, this month the second season premiered and I spent a few days really marathoning it, and I have to say I sincerely enjoyed it. I loved the introduction of The Punisher/Frank Castle and the storyline in the first half of the season, however I do have to admit the Elecktra stroyline and character seemed pretty predictable and didn’t really hold my complete interest. I loved seeing the evolution of Karen’s character throughout the series, but especially seeing her really come into her own in season 2. I must admit thought I was really disappointed in the lack of Foggy throughout the season, it seemed like he was barely there and he’s probably one of my favorite characters on the show. If you’ve checked out this series before, definitely go watch the latest season of Daredevil.

Speaking of Marvel superheros, let’s talk about how much I loved Deadpool. I really enjoyed this movie as a fun, raunchy superhero movie that didn’t take itself too seriously, which was a breath of fresh air in this period of really dark superhero movies. The storyline is about a mercenary who undergoes a horrible procedure to gain superpowers in the hopes of curing his deadly cancer, and after being horribly scarred by this process begins to track down the man who did this to him. I loved the format that this movie took, telling the story in flashbacks and playing around with time without treating the audience like children. I also loved the inclusion of the X Men, because while I don’t have any background in the X Men comics, their parts really made the Marvel Cinematic Universe feel super inclusive and open. Check out this movie if you’re looking for a fun, silly movie that isn’t afraid to make fun of itself!

Hail Caesar

Hail Caesar was a movie that I had been looking forward to for ages before I saw it this month. The latest film from the Cohen Brothers, it tells the tale of an actor kidnapped by a mysterious group set in the time period of 1950’s Old Hollywood. I loved this movie! The Cohen Brothers did an amazing job capturing the aesthetic of the 1950’s Hollywood feel, all while telling an interesting and sometimes downright hilarious tale. I will admit the plot of the story did feel a bit contrived at times and often seemed less dramatic than the trailer had me believing, but I truly enjoyed every minute of this movie. If you like the Cohen Brothers films or movies based on an aesthetic, definitely check out Hail Caesar!

Elise Gets Crafty

I have downright loved listening to this podcast during March! This podcast is focused at bloggers and small business owners, and talks about the business of blogging and the new industry developing out of crafting on the internet. I really enjoy the calming nature of this podcast and every episode I listen to, I feel as though I’m learning something new and interesting to me. I will admit that I’ve been cherry picking which episodes I download based on what is related to my interests and what I’m doing with this blog. Some of the episodes based on the small business aspects I don’t really listen to since they just aren’t related to me. If you’re interested in blogging, small business, or lifestyle podcasts definitely check out Elise Gets Crafty!

Well that’s it for this week, thank you for checking out what I’ve been loving during the month of March. I apologize again for the lack of beauty or fashion products this month, I promise that there should be some new products tried and tested during April. What products/shows have you been loving that I should try out in April? Let me know in the comments below!

Until next time,
