Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog! Since today is the first day of the new year, I thought I’d share my eight goals/resolutions for 2018. Check out my New Year’s Resolutions below!
Read 18 Books
I struggle with making reading resolutions as it can be hard reading for fun on a schedule. I think last year I went for something crazy like 30 books, and I didn’t come close. So this year I chose 18 for 2018 as my reading goals for the year. I thought that since it would be close to reading a book or two every month. I have a huge reading list written down, so I’m excited to dive into it!
Write 10 Blog Posts A Month
I’m pretty aware of my lack of blog posts this year, so I decided that doing at least 10 blog posts a month can be doable. I’m going to try and maintain a schedule, but by setting a number goal, it might be easier to keep track of my posts.
Increase my Savings Account by $1500
I don’t know if I’ve mentioned this on the blog yet, but I found a new job towards the end of the summer in 2017 and I’m starting to increase my savings a bit. This year I want to add an extra $1500 into my savings account so that I have an emergency fund saved up.
Open an Etsy Store
Since I’ve been making my own planner stickers for a few years now, I thought that this year is the time that I finally make my own Etsy store. I have a lot of research to do to get this resolution completed, however I’m really excited about moving forward in this venture!
Start Graduate School
This will be the year that I begin graduate school. Through my new job my tuition is covered, so once I am able to begin, I will be starting a graduate program. I have been looking forward to working on my Master’s Degree since I graduated from undergraduate, so I’m stoked that this year it will begin happening!
Run 3 Miles in 30 Minutes
This is the one I’m not too sure about. I was running two miles in 30 minutes earlier this year, however I’ve slowed down in the last few months. My goal is to up my cardio game and get up to three miles this year. I’ve been working on getting in shape for the past year and now I am trying to keep improving.
Finally Get My Driver’s License
Let’s be real for a minute, this has been a resolution for the past three years and I’ve yet to succeed. This year though, I feel like I am so close to finally just getting it. I have a lot of anxiety around driving, but this year I’ve driven on the roads more than ever and I think I really just need another month of regular practice before I’m ready for the test. Living in a state that is not known for its public transportation means that I need to get over this last hurdle and make myself more independent.
Say Yes to New Experiences
2017 was all about getting settled in a new environment and opening myself up to stepping outside my comfort zone. 2018 is going to be about taking more adventures and saying yes to more new experiences. I want to focus on the fun this year and just go exploring!
So there you have it, my New Year’s Resolutions for 2018. What are your resolutions or goals for 2018? Let me know in the comments below!
